Meeting this Thursday CANCELED

AUGUSTA UAPRN members and followers:

We only have 3 members, besides me, that can attend Thursday night for the elections (thank you cassie, sarah, nikki, and teddi and Whitney for your RSVP). In my freak out moment last week, I scheduled this thurday night  meeting when our only other board member, Bill, could not attend. According to the new bylaws,  I need 4 members in good standing present,  and willing to hold an office !  Not all of our current executive board members are in good standing. We will be forced to disband. I have been talking to James Lawrence, State President of UAPRN for the last week, and he has these suggestions. I am quoting...

" I would like to be at the meeting when you have the election. I believe its best if you can send the attachment out to whatever individuals you have on your list so that they can see this is not overly time consuming. On average, the chapter officers should not be spending more than 5-7 hours a month if they are organized and delegate well. But anyone wanting to run for office, MUST be a full paid member to do so.

I can come over whenever you want me to. If you want me to come the evening of the election, I will be more than happy to take that responsibility off your plate. I would just need you to tell me where and when to meet for that very important chapter meeting. Plan B is if we do not have adequate support from 3-4 members to hold office and do not have a minimum of 10 paid members, I can suspend the chapter and have another neighboring chapter "adopt" the Augusta members while we mentor and guide the group in showing how to manage a chapter, or Plan C would be to completely dissolve the chapter and no further action would be done after that. Of course, I want to avoid this at all costs."

Under these circumstances, I will try one last time to plan a membership meeting/and sponsored dinner program for the last week in Feb. Teddi McLeskey has graciously agreed to find a sponsor to host a dinner meeting. Nikki has agreed to ask a speaker to talk about GA reinbursement. James has agreed to come to this meeting. Hopefully we will find a date the last week in February that this meeting will take place.

Please contact me if you are interested in holding an office. I am looking forward to February meeting with a visit from the state president.
