Improving Georgians Access to Healthcare

Here is Video Link to SR 188 Testimony, Meeting # 2 Oct. 16th at Augusta University. Go to Time 51:09 for beginning of meetings with introductions. The first presenter from Medical Association of Georgia starts at 1:02:00. Hope everyone will take time to listen to the Testimony. The important study committee will help launch any future legislation to remove Barriers to APRN Practice here in Georgia.
A big thank you is in order to the APRNs of Georgia currently engaged in Professional/Legislative Advocacy through CAPRN (who took the lead on this Legislation), GNA, UAPRN, GA NAPNAP, GA CNS, GA ACNM, GANA, UAPRN, and GNLC who behind the scenes, volunteered countless hours to create the rough draft legislation, lobby for passage of SR 188 through the Spring 2017 Legislative Session at the State Capitol, then throughout the Summer and Fall helped plan the agenda for Testimony working closely with Senator Renee Unterman. We need to further increase our advocacy efforts and build up our grassroots network to move forward. The first step is knowing you your state legislators are and introducing yourself to them as a constituent.
Senator Unterman, who is an RN herself, has been a champion for Nurses of GA on many key pieces of legislation in recent years, including the RN Compact legislation in 2017. Everyone is encouraged to send a Personal Thank you note to Senator Unterman and the other legislator, Senator Larry Walker III on this committee for their important work.
